The heater Eberspacher AIRTRONIC B5 12B.
The heater consists of the following main components:
- Air blower
- The combustion chamber
- Heat Exchanger
- Control block
The operating principle of the AIRTRONIC B5 12V.
When enabled, the control lamp in the control lights up. The fan starts to rotate at "SMALL" speed. The glow plug works with a three-second delay.
After 50 seconds, the fuel supply starts and the air-fuel mixture ignites in the combustion chamber.
The fan speed changes from the "SMALL" stage to the "MEDIUM" stage. After 130 seconds, if a steady burning occurs, the glow plug is turned off. The fan speed changes from "MEDIUM" to "HIGH". To quickly achieve the working temperature of the heater, a higher "heating" power of 5.5 kW ("POWER" regulation stage) is supplied to it. When the working temperature of the heater is reached, the "heating" power is reduced to 4.8 kW (the "HIGH" control stage). The duration of the heating device at an increased "heating" capacity depends on the ambient temperature.
In heating mode, the room temperature or the temperature of the intake air is constantly measured.
If the temperature is higher than the value set on the control panel, the regulation starts.
There are 4 stages of regulation, which ensures precise adjustment of the heat energy flow supplied by the heating device in accordance with the needs. The speed of the fan and the amount of fuel supplied correspond with the selected control stage. If the temperature is exceeded, even
at the lowest stage of the regulation, the heater goes to the "OFF" control stage with the inertial fan run for about 4 minutes for cooling. Then the fan operates until the next start in the "MID" stage with minimum revs (recirculation mode) or is switched off (fresh air mode).
When the heater is switched off, the test lamp goes out and the fuel supply is cut off.
For cooling, the inertial run-out of the fan is provided for about 4 minutes. To clean the combustion chamber during the inertial run-out of the fan, a pinning electrode is turned on for about 30 seconds.
Special situation: If the fuel supply does not occur before the switch-off, or if the heater is in the "OFF" stage, the heater goes into standby mode after the inertial run-out.
